For Saudi Arabian citizens obtaining an entry visa is required. This can be obtained through an official electronic visa (eVisa) website or upon arrival. but it is HIGHLY recommended that one secures the visa before traveling to Tanzania.
To obtain a visa to enter Tanzania through the electronic website, you can follow these steps:
1- Visit the Visa Application Website: https://tanzania-eservices.org
2- Fill Out the Electronic Form
3- Upload Required Documents
4- Pay Fees
5- Monitor Application Status
6- Print the Visa: Once the visa is issued, print a copy of it. This copy must be carried with you when traveling to Tanzania to present at entry points.
In Tanzania , tipping, or gratuity, is mandatory. Some profession they don’t have salary or hourly paid, they live on tips, like waiters, drivers, hotel staff. Here are some general guidelines:
1. Restaurants: A standard tip is 10% of the total bill. Some restaurants may include a service charge, so it's essential to check your bill.
2. Hotels: Tipping hotel staff is customary. You can tip porters around TZS 2500 or $1 per bag and leave a gratuity for housekeeping, typically around TZS 5000 - 7500 per day.
3. Tour Guides/Drivers: For guided tours or transportation services, tipping is appreciated. You can tip tour guides and drivers around TZS 25000 - 50000 per day, depending on the service.
4. Taxi Drivers:Tipping taxi drivers is common, and rounding up the fare is acceptable.
In Tanzania, the official currency is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS).
Payment methods:
Cash: Cash is widely used in Tanzania, especially for small transactions and in rural areas where credit cards may not be accepted.
Credit/Debit Cards: Major credit cards like Visa and MasterCard are accepted in many upscale hotels, restaurants, and large stores in urban areas. However, smaller businesses and cash markets often prefer cash.
ATMs: ATMs are available in cities and large towns where you can withdraw Tanzanian Shillings using your international debit or credit card. Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted, but it's advisable to inform your bank of your travel plans to avoid any issues with withdrawals.
