Return to Copenhagen
We fly with Air Greenland from Copenhagen to Nuuk on a 4.5-hour journey, marking the start of our 8-day adventure. After checking in at hotel and attending a brief welcome meeting, you’ll have free time to explore the capital at your own pace. Despite its small population, Nuuk offers vibrant cultural spots, beautiful scenery, and a wide range of outdoor activities to enjoy.
Dinner
At 3:30 PM, we depart Nuuk by boat toward the beautiful Qooqqut Nuan’ Restaurant, sailing through one of the world’s largest fjord systems. Along the way, we stop in the Qooqqut Fjord to catch our own fish, which will be freshly prepared for dinner by one of Nuuk’s top chefs. Surrounded by 2,000-meter mountains and a rare patch of trees, the area offers a perfect spot for a short scenic hike while your meal is being cooked. After enjoying this unique dining experience, we return to Nuuk around 9:00 PM.
Your journey continues by plane to Ilulissat, named after the towering icebergs of its famous Icefjord. After checking in at your hotel overlooking Disko Bay, you’ll attend a brief info meeting to prepare for the days ahead. You’ll then discover Greenland’s iconic sled dogs on a guided outdoor tour, learning about their heritage and seeing them in their natural environment. When permitted, you may safely approach selected dogs and explore traditional sledding gear. A short experience offering an authentic glimpse into Greenland’s sled-dog culture.
Ilulissat, named after its towering icebergs, sits at the mouth of the UNESCO-listed Icefjord, where the ice can be experienced by land, sea, or air. Today’s hike takes you to the ancient Sermermiut settlement, home to Inuit cultures for 4,000 years, with views over the famous Kællingekløften. In the evening, you’ll experience the Icefjord from the water, watching the icebergs drift under the Arctic sky.
Today offers the unforgettable experience of getting close to some of the world’s largest animals. Greenland is home to 15 whale species, and in summer, humpbacks, minke whales, and fin whales are commonly seen across Disko Bay. Fishermen and hunters share real-time updates, helping us navigate to the best whale-spotting locations. The humpback, with its iconic tail and dorsal fin, is the most frequently observed.
The day begins with an early departure from Ilimanaq, after which you’ll have time to enjoy your final moments in Ilulissat—whether shopping, relaxing in a café, or simply admiring the breathtaking views. You may also choose to join a full-day boat trip to the Eqi Glacier, located 80 km north of town. From a safe distance, you’ll watch massive chunks of ice calve into the fjord while enjoying lunch on board. The journey can take between two and five hours each way, depending on the boat. At 2:00 PM, the ship stops at Port Victor for passenger exchange before returning to Ilulissat
