An Educational Journey to Italy
Over eleven days, our students lived one of the most memorable educational and recreational journeys yet — a trip that combined knowledge, exploration, and unforgettable memories. The program was designed to give students an experience beyond simple sightseeing: one built on learning by doing, openness to new cultures, and skill-building in diverse environments.
Sixteen students took part, accompanied by tour guides and five supervisors from Enlighten Our Minds Schools, all working as one team to ensure the students’ safety, keep the daily program running smoothly, and make the most of every day of the trip.
Milan: Five Days of Discovery
The journey began in Milan, one of Italy’s most prominent and diverse cities, where the group spent five days packed with activities and tours. Students explored major historical and cultural landmarks, wandering streets where old-world charm meets modern life. The itinerary included famous squares, historic castles, museums, and buildings of striking architectural character, with the city’s history and stories brought to life in a fun, accessible way.
The trip went beyond sightseeing to include educational and entertainment exhibitions designed for children and young people, where students took part in interactive activities that encouraged hands-on learning, creativity, and exploration — introducing them to new ideas and different approaches to education and entertainment.
The program also included visits to lakes and natural areas around Milan, offering the group a chance to unwind amid calm surroundings and beautiful scenery. These stops were opportunities for rest and play, group activities, outdoor meals, photos, and building friendships among the students — moments that filled the trip with joy and team spirit and gave it a distinctly human touch.
Throughout the first five days, students also got a taste of everyday Italian life, moving between restaurants, cafés, and local markets, learning about Italian customs, sampling traditional food, and observing how local people live — a well-rounded cultural experience that went far beyond visiting tourist sites.
A Hands-On Day on an Italian Farm
One of the trip’s highlights was a visit to a farm in the Italian countryside, where students had a hands-on experience learning about agricultural production and rural life. They took part in making traditional Italian pasta by hand and learned the steps of preparing mozzarella cheese, alongside farming and harvesting activities that showed them how local products are made — from the field all the way to the consumer.
Because real learning comes through experience, students also took part in building and creativity activities using educational building blocks, working in groups to bring different ideas and models to life — strengthening their thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a fun, interactive way.
The Italian Countryside: Slowing Down and Reconnecting with Nature
The group then moved to the Italian countryside, spending the rest of the trip on a rural farm surrounded by nature. This stage of the journey was a complete change of pace — leaving the buzz of the cities behind for a calmer, more nature-connected experience. Students woke up each day to green scenery and fresh air, living the details of rural life firsthand.
Hiking Among Farms and Forests
This part of the program included several hiking trails through nature, where students enjoyed walking among farms, forests, and natural paths, getting to know the surrounding environment and learning the importance of protecting and respecting it.
Leave No Trace
The program also featured awareness workshops on the “Leave No Trace” principle, aimed at instilling a culture of environmental conservation, responsible behavior in natural areas, and the concept of sustainable tourism among students. Everyone took part in these workshops with great enthusiasm, turning theoretical concepts into real practices throughout the trip.
Communication with parents continued throughout the program, with daily photos and reports keeping them updated on their children’s activities — giving them peace of mind and making them part of this special experience.
A Trip That Shaped More Than Memories
The journey was also marked by a strong spirit of cooperation and responsibility among all participants. Students showed a high level of commitment and discipline, learning self-reliance, respect for time, teamwork, and adaptability to new environments — skills just as valuable as anything learned in a classroom.
By the end of the trip, everyone returned home with beautiful memories and unforgettable experiences. These eleven days were more than a trip abroad — they were a journey into the students’ minds and characters, broadening their horizons and blending learning with fun in a practical, inspiring way.
We extend our sincere thanks to the administration of Enlighten Our Minds Schools for their trust and for providing such valuable educational opportunities, and to all the supervisors and tour guides who contributed to the program’s success. Most of all, we are proud of the commitment, engagement, and positive spirit the students brought to the trip — making it a true model of learning beyond the classroom.
It was a journey full of learning, exploration, adventure, friendship, laughter, and experiences that will stay in the memory for a long time — one of the most beautiful chapters in the lives of everyone who took part.
