Kids in Nature: When Al Sawda Becomes a Classroom Without Walls
Atop the green peaks of Al Sawda, where mist brushes the treetops and temperatures drop below the rest of the Kingdom, children find a rare chance to reconnect with nature — away from screens and city noise. This is where the idea for “Kids in Nature” began.
About the Program
The program runs twice a year in the Al Sawda region of Asir, targeting children aged 8 to 14. The experience spans three days, carefully designed to suit the participants’ age group, giving them a safe space to explore the natural world around them.
The Program’s Goal
Kids in Nature focuses on two main pillars: building life skills in children, and reconnecting them with nature through a variety of engaging activities. Instead of spending time on screens, children learn to explore, observe, and interact with Al Sawda’s unique environment.
Why Al Sawda?
Al Sawda stands out for its lush green mountains and mild climate, making it an ideal setting for outdoor activities year-round. Its dense forests and towering elevations give children a sensory experience completely different from what they’re used to in the city.
An Impact That Lasts Beyond the Trip
In just three days, children return home with new memories and experiences — and more importantly, with simple yet deeply meaningful life skills: curiosity, observation, and appreciation for what nature offers.
Kids in Nature isn’t just a fun getaway; it plants the seeds of a healthy, lasting relationship between the next generation and their environment.
